All Bar One Party

ichallenger will be hosting a party in AllBarOne Appold Street (The City) in the next couple of months. This will be a chance for all contributors to come along and meet the guys and to learn a little more about the trip.

This will be a public event and we will be aiming to raise support from the friendly crowd who frequent the venue.

IChallenger - It begins

It begins. I, the Challenger, will undertake a series of challenges eventually reaching South Africa. The challenges will be used to raise money for Unicef, The Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund and The Prince’s Fund for Lesotho. There are two noble fellows who have agreed to take part as “The Challenger”:

If you are interested in lending your support, financial or otherwise, we would love to hear from you with donations, or with suggestions for challenges to raise funds. Although our minimum target to take part in the event is Â£10,000, we hope to raise much, much more so any support is greatly appreciated.

Follow-up Report

What is Tough Guy? It is the original survival ordeal, a test of physical and mental endurance designed to take you beyond your limits on torture rack obstacles known as The Killing Fields. All after a wild terrain ‘warm up’. It is held annually on the last Sunday in January and July. The total distance of this event is unknown (and those that compete say it’s Â too horrible to remember) but current estimates are around 11miles. Mainly uphill. And then the obstacle course begins.

Here are some of the Killing Fields Obstacles:

Gruelling Country Miles - This largely unknown and mystical of the first obstacles comes with this helpful advice: “As a guide to how long it’ll take you to get round, a good rule of thumb is to double your 10 mile run time.”
